Deepwater’s ICCP sled retrofit system continues to perform flawlessly after nearly 20 years.

Deepwater was contracted in 2024 to provide a survey and inspection of a platform that has been protected by a pair of RetroBuoys™ since 2006. The Gulf of Mexico platform, located in 420 feet of water about 75 miles south of the Mississippi / Alabama border, was outfitted with Deepwater's RetroBuoys™ when the original cathodic protection system began to fail. The RetroBuoys™ are powered by two 400A transformer/rectifiers that were part of the 2006 retrofit.

CP survey data potentials taken in 2024 show that all four of the platform’s legs continue to receive adequate protection; Leg A1: –1059 mV,  Leg A2: –1062, Leg B1: –1055, and Leg B2: –1053.

An inspection of the transformer/rectifiers also found them in good order, although oil levels were noted as being low.
