Fast, easy connection

 

The CP Hot Stab™ is designed to allow a typical ROV to connect a corrosion protection grounding cable to a subsea component. The system consists of a steel receiver that is welded to the component and an acme-threaded stab mounted on a compliant handle.

 

In the photo above, CP Hot Stab™ tiebacks were used on a subsea pipeline near Australia to connect electrically-isolated components not receiving adequate cathodic protection. Some of the clamps, shown below, included stab plates to provide easy access to gather CP readings via ROV.
