Electrobraze offers durable, efficient and cost-effective pin brazing equipment for attaching cables to pipelines and other metallic structures. Pin brazing was developed in Sweden in the 1950s as a lower-heat alternative to welding cables to steel in order to prevent high-heat damage to sensitive substrate materials.
Originally used for railroad track signal bonding, grounding circuits and earthing of pylons, it has expanded for use in the oil, gas and utilities industries as a safe method of connecting cables to pipelines. The most popular application is for cathodic protection purposes, including the attachment of cathodic protection system sacrificial anode cables, test post cables, continuity bonding between pipeline sections, connection of monitoring cables, earthing and A.C. mitigation systems.
