TimberSleds installed at Jefferson Terminal south dock

Timbersleds installed on JTS Dock 1

Deepwater was contracted to design and commission the cathodic protection system for the Jefferson Terminal South (JTS) Dock 1. The CP system was separated into an impressed current cathodic protection system for the loading platform and nearby structures, and galvanic anode cathodic protection systems were designed for the mooring dolphins, two of the breasting dolphins, and an outfall pile too far away from the main dock to receive its cathodic protection from the ICCP system.

The ICCP system’s two timber sleds were installed in June by a Deepwater representative and in October the associated junction box cables were terminated and the rectifier was energized and adjusted. The ICCP system was left on to allow the protected structures to polarize, and final commissioning was completed in December.

The GACP systems were installed in December, but the GACP system's standalone anodes at two mooring dolphins were not installed because localized debris prevented it. The anodes for these two dolphins were installed after the area was dredged.
