Deepwater, part of Acteon Group, protects our clients' assets from corrosion. We solve corrosion problems and improve anti-corrosion technology to reduce maintenance costs and preserve the integrity of the energy industries' infrastructure.

Deepwater is looking to add an Outside Sales, USA Projects team member to the team here in Houston. Under the supervision of the CEO, the Outside Sales, USA Projects role is expected to achieve company sales targets. This includes managing and growing sales through servicing existing accounts, developing new prospects into customers and planning campaigns to best respond to changing market conditions. In addition, the candidate will be responsible to shepherd project proposals through the development and approval process, and for providing accurate forecasts for the sales team. The successful candidate must have an extensive background in sales and must clearly demonstrate his/her knowledge of our industry. S/he must also possess a strong customer service attitude, have strong analytical, account management and relationship skills and support a professional, can-do, goal-oriented culture.


  • Achieve bookings targets and other KPIs for your team
  • Develop and execute an effective sales strategy in alignment with agreed upon priorities and sales plans. This includes maintaining adequate quality and activity levels within the group as well as training sales staff to effectively promote Deepwater's offering
  • Coordinate all project proposals and sales activities for your team, with a focus on producing winning bids. This includes overseeing proposed solutions and providing a liaison with the engineering and projects department for proposals under development
  • Maintain adequate quality and activity levels within the group, in support of achieving team goals. This includes weekly activity reports, logging all team activity in Salesforce, producing timely expense reports and producing proposals above and beyond customer expectations
  • Coach, mentor, motivate, evaluate and communicate with team members about career goals, performance expectations and sales and company plans. Assure all team members are receiving adequate training and coaching and are obtaining the skills to take on more responsibility and develop professionally
  • Prepare and monitor sales forecasts and expenses budgets for your team, including review and submission for inclusion in monthly financials and EMT reporting
  • Interview, hire and train new sales team members


  • Degree qualified and 5+ years relevant outside sales experience working in our industry (or High School Diploma and 10+ years relevant outside sales experience working in our industry)
  • Management experience required. Must have a history of hiring, training and motivating high performance sales team members
  • Candidate must have a track record of achieving sales goals and the ability to demonstrate they can plan and execute sales strategies
  • In-depth knowledge of Salesforce CRM is a plus
  • Sales acumen; presenting and selling based on value, asking questions and listening to customers and using creativity to overcome challenges in closing deals
  • Ability to nurture prospects and customers; taking the time required to build relationships, create trust, boost credibility and grow accounts
  • Desire to continuously learn new skills and strategies to adapt to trends in the ever-changing sales industry
  • Candidate must have strong negotiation, verbal communications and relations skills
  • Must have the ability to 'lead by example' and effectively coordinate with multiple departments including Marketing, R&D, Engineering, Finance and Logistics
  • Must be self-motivated and must demonstrate the foresight to see what needs to be done in the position and have a strong desire to make things happen
  • Must have the ability to organize and prioritize large amounts of information and stay focused, including team opportunities and accounts, leads generated from marketing and monitoring customer satisfaction with the execution of existing projects
