Deepwater hosts another blood drive
The Bloodmobile revisits Deepwater
For the past year, the nephew of one of Deepwater’s team has battled a rare form of leukemia, and the staff had an opportunity last August to help by donating blood in his name to the MD Anderson Blood Donor Center. Young Elias has been undergoing treatment for the past year, and on July 30, the Deepwater team once again stepped up and donated blood in his name. Each donation is worth $25 toward his blood bank credits.
On Deepwater's broiling late-July parking lot there was plenty of blood, lots of sweat but very few tears. Like a gargantuan mosquito, Houston’s MD Anderson Cancer Center's well-worn Bloodmobile descended upon Deepwater’s offices and drained our team members of every drop of blood they could spare. Their donations will impact the lives of a large number of patients at MD Anderson in addition to our friend Elias. We’d like to thank everyone who volunteered this year, and in the future, Deepwater plans to continue supporting Elias and all patients at MD Anderson as they fight to become cancer-free.
As we mentioned last time, if you've been considering donating blood in Houston, there’s a tremendous need for donors at MD Anderson's Blood Donor Center near the medical center and at their community blood drives all around the city.
