Deepwater speakers at IEC 2023
Deepwater’s Chief Technology Officer, Matt Taylor, Ph.D., and Omar Rojas, Ph.D., Deepwater’s Sr. Corrosion and CP Scientist were among the speakers at Inspection Expo and Conference (IEC) 2023 in Austin, TX.
Dr. Taylor, chair of the section for AMPP, began the meeting with an introduction to offshore corrosion: How offshore corrosion occurs, how to inspect and what to do when you find it.
Next, John Bogard, Aftermarket Services Engineer at OneSubsea, spoke on the impact of coating breakdown factors on cathodic protection in a subsea environment.
Mark Mateer, Principal Asset Integrity Engineer for Shell Projects & Technology, presented an analysis of spot wall thickness inspection data on API 5L pipe.
Dr. Rojas then spoke on inspection and monitoring technologies for assessing cathodic protection in subsea environments.
A question and answer session followed the presentation.
