The CP Mat™ gets a new look, renamed RetroMat™
Deepwater is pleased to announce a new phase in the development of the CP Mat. With significant alterations, we are retiring the "CP Mat" branding and christening the new product range the RetroMat™. The new mat will still be relevant for all previous CP Mat applications, while providing many unique development opportunities in the future.
The Retro Mat can now be assembled on site:
A system of plastic shells has revolutionized the deployment of offshore concrete mattresses. Rather than shipping a pre-poured concrete mattress, we can now ship a complete mat's worth of empty shells to the site. These shells conveniently clip together and allow local crews to pour the concrete on-site. A basic set of instructions will assist the assembly crew to incorporate the integral anode system and pour the concrete to complete the fabrication.
Mat systems using these shells have been used extensively in the Pacific Rim area for pipeline stabilization and mechanical impact protection since 1993, when they were introduced. Upon recognizing the significant improvements possible with the shells, Deepwater immediately began to update the CP Mat, completing the R&D effort in Q2 of 2009.
