Way Ahead In Corrosion Control

Deepwater cyclists ride the 2013 BP MS150

Deepwater supported a team of riders in the 2013 BP MS 150 Houston to Austin charity bicycle ride on April 20-21 benefitting research and services for people living with multiple sclerosis. Deepwater’s supply chain manager Chris McGrew headed a team of benevolent bikers that included himself, his wife Lynn, Simon Brabo and Charles Clark. Here’s how Chris described the ride:

Our team has raised over $2,800 to date for MS research, and Deepwater’s company match helped motivate several people to donate. The ride was a great experience. On Saturday, we rode 100 miles to La Grange and spent the night there. With 12,000 cyclists participating, it was crowded, but the organizers put on a top-flight event and provided more than enough support for everyone, including a small team like ours.

Sunday, we rode 80 miles into Austin with a celebratory detour through Bastrop State Park. A similar party scene greeted us when we arrived at the Capitol.

The weather was brilliant and we pedaled hard both days. Several teams commented on how cool our kits looked, and we got to tell a lot of people about what Deepwater does. I would love to captain another of these rides in the future, and hope to recruit more Deepwater folks to ride with us. I’d like to thank all our supporters, and I’m already looking forward to next year’s event.
