Deepwater installs RetroLinks™ on platforms, wellheads and risers in the Gulf of Mexico

In 2011, Deepwater was contracted by an operator to supply and install cathodic protection (CP) systems for oil & gas assets in various fields in the Gulf of Mexico, which included individual wellhead platforms, gas lift manifolds and main area production platforms. A total of 64 RetroLinks™ were installed on platforms, wellheads and pipeline risers. Before installation, Deepwater technicians measured individual wellhead platform cathodic protection potentials, including originating and terminating pipeline risers. They also confirmed electrical isolation between wellheads and originating risers and between platforms and terminating risers. CP potentials were measured again after installation was completed.
