23 RetroLinks™ installed on platform; average installation time was 1.5 hours per anode string.
Deepwater Corrosion Services was contracted by Chevron East to restore adequate cathodic protection on a caisson structure in the Gulf of Mexico by installing 23 RetroLink™ anode strings.
The structure sits in 48 feet of seawater and required installation of 23 RetroLink™ anode strings with a length of 60 feet each. Every string had a leader length of 25 feet.
The RetroLinks™ were suspended from 23 stand-offs that were welded to the structure. Two Vamp Clamps™ – which are designed to permit electrical continuity around insulated flanges and other challenges – were also fitted.
The total time spent installing the links was 34.5 hours.
