Two vessels protected by TankGard™

Vessel anodes and reference electrode installed
For a large Gulf of Mexico platform, Deepwater designed a tank CP system and provided the equipment to protect a 90” x 30’ low-pressure oil separator located on the production deck and a 108” x 13’ flotation cell located on the main production deck.
The LP oil separator received a 26” x 4” OD high-silicon cast-iron stick anode and a HP-1Z 4” x ¾” reference electrode with condulet box. The flotation cell received a 40” x 3” OD high-silicon cast-iron stick anode.
A single Transformer-Rectifier TR Unit, 4-Channels 10A 12V with a metallic frame support was installed to independently supply power to both CP systems.
The operator indicated that the flotation cell recently had a sacrificial CP system installed, so only the commissioning settings for the LP separator vessel were performed. The ICCP system will override or take over the flotation cell’s sacrificial system only if the sacrificial anodes installed start depleting and the polarization values are above +200 mV vs Zn. The flotation cell’s ICCP commissioning settings will be performed when the sacrificial anodes are at their end of life.
