Two jackets retrofit with RetroPods™

The client requested a 10-year CP life extension design to prevent corrosion on two jackets in the South China Sea. One of the structures is a 3-leg gas platform at a depth of 42 ft with three production conductors and two pipeline risers and the other is a 4-leg gas platform in 24 ft of seawater with one production conductor and three pipeline risers. RetroPods™ were utilized in retrofitting both platforms.

The anode retrofit was completed before the platforms depolarized to prevent free corrosion of the jacket and, more importantly, to protect the areas of associated subsea pipelines which rely on the jacket for protection.

The structure in 42 ft received 3 RetroPods and the structure in 24 ft received two RetroPods™.
