RetroClamps™ for rigid jumper monitoring
Special RetroClamps™ provide attachment points for data loggers
Deepwater was contracted to provide six purpose-built RetroClamps™ to be installed on two rigid jumpers to attach data loggers provided by a third party.
Three clamps were installed on each rigid jumper, providing an attachment point for the data loggers. Clamps and data loggers were installed using a work class ROV. All clamps were fitted with manually-releasable flapper stop pins to allow the clamp to be released from the jumper.
Unlike most RetroClamps™, this version does not make electric contact with the rigid jumper. Because of this, it's fitted with two sacrificial aluminum anodes. This RetroClamp™ has a hard rubber clamp pad that's pressed against the painted surface of the rigid jumper by a contact screw mounted in a floating plate.
