Way Ahead In Corrosion Control

Flangemate and the TankGard system

The TankGard system is an automatic, potentially controlled, impressed-current cathodic protection system designed to control internal corrosion of the tank. The system consists of a Flangemate (shown at top), which is the anode that delivers cathodic protection to the tank's internal surface, a series of reference electrodes (shown at bottom) that measure the potential between tank wall and fluid to regulate the amount of impressed current needed, and the rectifier (small box at far left), which provides D.C. current through the anode.
